Gareth Evans - Vocals Ruari Batchelor - Guitar George Clift - Guitar Ross Smith - Drums Tom Dowse - Bass Sick to Death was the name of the band that Gareth, Ross and Ruari started when they were still at school. Playing Misfits and Black Flag covers, they were getting into HC the old skool way. After a year or so doing that, along with bassist Dan Amos and Guitarist George Thurorgood, they started The Hallowed. A Goth Punk band in the style of AFI, misfits etc. They played a few shows, but were troubled with ‘AFI Wannabe’ tags. Thurorgood left soon after, leaving the other four wondering what to do. They decided to try their hand at a more metal approach, influenced by bands like At the Gates. For this they new that a second guitarist was essential. By now, its Spring 2002, Ross had been playing in Urotsukidoji for a few months and asked George to fill the spot. Dan Amos left and Scott White from Winter In June filled in live while they looked for another full time bassist. Their style changed to a more moshy metal HC, and in November 2002 they recorded a two track demo for George, xNatex and xRichardx’s new label HandsomeDevil. Since then, the group have progressed in style to a faster, dischordant, less metallic, more experimental type of Hardcore. Playing shows with Darkest Hour, Majority Rule, Himsa, Reaching Forward, Thirty Seconds Until Armageddon, SwornxIn, SteelRulesDie, Jairus, all the CT bands and loads more I can’t remember!. Watch out for NCF this year, after a trouble filled 12 months that has slowed us down, we are going to pick up momentum. We plan to record a MCD/7” and hopefully a split 7”, plus as many shows as possible, so keep an eye out for us.
