Daniel Duggan - Vocals George Clift - Guitars Ross Blair - Guitars Aaron Davis - Bass Ross Smith - Drums Urotsukidoji Started In late 2000 after George’s band, Prevaill and Ross and Dans band Not to Blame Split up. George started playing drums for them and Martin Jones was in on Bass. They knew they needed two guitars so a student studying in CT from Hong Kong was drafted in. Amrish stayed till Xmas but had to go back to Hong Kong, so George went back to drums. The band started life as Final Approach To Home but soon changed to Urot. After a gig in George’s girlfriend lucy’s back garden with DeadLifePortrait and Winter in June, Urot Played their first proper show in April 2001 with Norwegian Screamo guys JR Ewing. They went down a storm. They played a couple of shows with George drumming including the now legendary BeachFest. Martin left the band at the end of the summer and so with that in mind, they set about finding a drummer and a bassist. They came in the form of long time friend Aaron Davis and RossBones. Aaron didn’t even lay bass but he fit in so well, they knew it would work out, which it did. George went for Ross after seeing his potential playing in The Hallowed. The new line up played their first shows with Winter In June and Belgium old skool kids, third Season. They were Peterborough 30th Oct with 30secs and a Halloween show in Southampton. In December, they recorded 3 songs to be put out on a split CD with Winter In June by Ignition Records. Over the next eight months or so, they played everywhere. The CD came out in April 2002 just in time to coincide with the repress of the xCanaanx MCD ‘Gehenna Made Flesh’ and a short tour of Belgium in which Urot took xCanaanx with them. The two bands played 3 shows with xKombatx, Third Season, Thumbs Down plus more. They played a few more awesome shows but things got complicated. RossxBones had joined XCanaanx, making him the drummer in 3 full time bands, plus George was in the Hallowed with RossxBones and Ross Blair was in NorthByNorthWest. This made even practice a difficult affair. Plus Aaron had a place at Scarborough University in the Autumn, Ross was already at uni and George and Dan were stating at Canterbury also. It seemed impossible so they called it a day in the late summer of 2002. Ross Blair now plays in The Luzhin Defence(formerly The Babies 3), and Lofi Emo/Indie outfit PhotoBook Stories. Original Urot Bassist Martin is also in this band. George plays guitar in NovemberComingFire RossxBones plays drums in NCF and xCanaanx. Dan is now running an awesome distro that you can check out in the distro section of this site There was some talk of a reform but is difficult at the mo, coz we’re all so busy with our other shit but it may happen some day. Well, i’d like it to anyway! We would just like to say a big thanks to everyone that helped us out in any way over the time we were together, we had a gret time and if it wasnt for the people that put us on, fed us, drove us, put us up, moshed, sang along, bought a cd or bought a shirt, we wouldnt be able to look back with such fond memories.
